1st Feb 2024: We have a first PhD student in the lab, congratulations Dr Kaliya Georgieva! Grateful to thesis commitee members Prof Zuzana Storchova (University of Kaiserslautern, Germany) and Prof Kamil Kranc (ICR, UK).

Giulia was selected to give a talk at the EMBO Non-Coding Genome meeting in Heidelberg, Germany (11-14th October 2023). She also won an EMBO and Biochemical Society Travel Grant to attend this flagship meeting. Well done Giulia!

During these challenging times I have decided to start running and at the same raise some funds to support cancer research, which unfortunately is suffering, as many other things, during the pandemic. I am not expecting to raise millions as Captain Tom Moore but I do hope that with my running and public support we can help CRUK to help cancer research going (April 2020).

We were at the RNA UK 2020 meeting in Windermere. Great meeting and organisation with the unique Burns Night and one and only haggis.

We were presenting at the EMBO The Non-coding genome in Heidelberg. Also honoured to receive the prize for the best short talk. A lot of things to do now on these benches in the lab (October 2019)
